About The Owner
Meet Ally Ganchegui, the owner of her small business called Magical Moments Planning LLC. She has always been obsessed with weddings and love. Even as a kid she would watch any show that had to do with weddings or wedding dresses. In school she studied a little bit of everything. She got her bachelors in Business and Spanish but she minored in Biology, Chemistry, and Computer Science. Ally got married in 2022 to her wonderful husband. They were best friends in college. He is Ally's biggest fan and supports her through owning her business and even assists her on some weddings when she needs an extra set of hands. Ally and her husband are major Disney/Marvel/Starwars fans so they enjoy watching all the movies and shows together. They also love to play games together.
History Of The Business
While Ally was in college she began working as an event planner and fell in love with it. That’s when she really started to think she could make a career out of planning events and weddings. She doubted herself for a few years and was scared to take the leap and start her own business. With the support and encouragement of her husband and friends she finally did it. She became an LLC and has been happier than ever. She is finally doing what she loves. She started Magical Moments Planning because she didn’t agree with the charges that most companies were charging for planning and coordination services. She wanted to be affordable and accessible for couples to make their day perfect. She wants to be an advocate and a resource for her clients so that they can have the wedding of their dreams.
About The Business
Magical Moments Planning LLC is based out of Portland OR but she travels anywhere. She does also plan destination weddings as well. She offers Planning packages full or partial, Individual planning sessions paid by the hour, Day of coordination and Custom creations (Floral preservation, custom decor, custom attire, ect. Her most popular service is her day of coordination with some individual planning sessions.
Perks and Obstacles With Owning A Business
Ally's favorite part of favorite thing about owning my wedding is that she has the freedom to be a part of as many weddings as she wants. She also get to do what her heart feels as right and don’t have to comply to rules and pricing that she doesn't agree with. Her biggest struggle with owning my own business has just been having a good work life balance. She is notorious for checking emails at midnight. She gets so invested and excited that it is hard for her to put it down.
Future Plans For The Business
Ally is working on getting certified in honeymoon planning. She hopes to be able to offer this to her clients in the next year. Her big time goal would be to plan a Disney Wedding at one of the parks.
More Information About The Business
Ally is certified in event and wedding planning. This includes destination weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, elopements and more. You do not have to be certified in Oregon but I believe that the more knowledge the better which is why she went through extensive training and testing to get my certification.
